TS SSC Exams 2020 Cancelled, students to be promoted
The students studying class tenth in Telangana state would be promoted to class-11 with out appearing their public exams. The government is not in a position to conduct the public exams amid corona virus caused lockdown.
On Monday the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao announced that the TS SSC 220 examinations would not be conducted this year. The news comes after the state had earlier decided to postpone the examinations on Sunday, following the Hyderabad High Court order. The exams now have been cancelled. All the TS 10th Standard students would be promoted to next class without any examinations this year’ announced the CM.
Around 5.4 lakh SSC students are waiting for their exams. The examinations for the TS SSC consists of 11 papers. Of these, only two examinations had been conducted before they were postponed due to the outbreak. The students would be promoted based on the internal assessment examinations conducted by the schools.
Actually the pending exams are scheduled to begin from Monday. However, the Hyderabad High Court asked the state to reconsider and while it permitted it to conduct the exams in the state, it forbid the government to conduct the 10th class examinations in GHMC area. However, the government countered that it was not feasible to conduct the examinations at two different times and postponed the examinations across the state. A high level meeting was then called today, where the decision was taken to cancel the examination all together. The Chief Minister pointed out that it would not be possible to conduct the examination in the state due to spread of Coronavirus. Following the order, however, the government decided to postpone the exams scheduled to be conducted from June 8.
