TDP MLC Suneetha resigns Likely to join YSRCP
Pothula Suneetha, MLC of Telugu Desam party has resigned on Wednesday for her membership in legislative council. Actually she has quit TDP long back but now she quit even the post too. Pothula Sunitha along with her husband Pothula Suresh were hardcore supporters of Paritala Ravi, family for the past few decades. Sunitha contested from Chirala assembly constituency in 2014 assembly elections against Amanchi Krishnamohan and was defeated. Later she was made as an MLC. Later Krishnamohan went to YSRCP before 2019 assembly elections but she Sunitha continued in the TDP. But she supported the government’s decision to abolish the legislative council and later she joined the YSRCP.
Chandrababu Naidu and others wrote a letter to the chairperson of council to disqualify her. The letter is under pending but meanwhile she quit the post and wrote letter to chairman. Pothula Suneetha sent her resignation letter to state legislative council chairman Syed Ahmed Shariff stating that she had to take the decision in protest against the anti-BC, SC, ST and minorities policies of the TDP for the past 15 years. She alleged that N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief of TDP and his son Nara Lokesh of obstructing the developmental and welfare programmes being undertaken by YSRCP government headed by chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy with the influence of courts.
The TDP has been violating the spirit of constitution of the nation. I am resigning my post in protest against the party stand. She said that she is quitting the post to express solidarity with the pro-poor decisions of the government.
