Protests in Amaravati intensify
The protests in Amaravati are intensifying with more people joining the protest and coming on to the streets. The TDP leaders and cadre are strongly supporting the farmers of the 29 villages of the capital city, Amaravati.
TDP chief and Opposition leader, Chandrababu Naidu is joining them today in support of their agitation.
The police have made elaborate security arrangements in the 29 villages. They have stopped people from taking motor cycle rally from Thulluru to Mandadam, on security reasons.The protests are allowed in the villages, but the processions are prohibited by the police. Former MLA from the capital villages, Tenali Sravan Kumar, had joined the protesters in Velagapudi on Monday.
Interestingly, Bharatiya Kisan Singh leader, Kumara Swamy, who opposed the capital location in the multi-crop agriculture lands in the early days, joined the protesters on Monday in support of their demand to continue capital in Amaravati.
In Uddandarayunipalem, where the foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016, the protesters are holding a sit-in dharna.
Some of the BJP leaders too are now joining the protests promising to take the issue to the notice of the Prime Minister. Former TDP leader and now BJP MP Y S Chowdary said that he would represent their issue to the Prime Minster Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
