Kurnool Poses Greater Threat To AP Govt
Kurnool district is posing greater threat to the AP government in handling carona virus cases. The district had reported 52 cases on Sunday taking the State’s total to 252.
The highest cases are reported from Kurnool town which had recorded 19, followed by Nandyala with 12 cases. The positive cases were also reported from Banaganapalle, Panyam, Nandikotkuru, Kodumuru, Athmakuru and other places in the district.
The cases are mostly of those who have attended the religious meeting in Delhi in the second week of March. Having attended the meeting, in which more than 800 foreigners too were present, the participants did not go for medical tests even as the country was facing the threat of the virus spread.
Kurnool district, followed by Kadapa district topped the districts in AP from where people in large numbers attended the Delhi meeting.
Thanks to the volunteers’ mechanism that is in place in AP, the government was able to track the list of participants in the Delhi meet from the State and took them all to the testing centers and quarantined them.
AP is thus placed in better position than other states from where people have participated in the Delhi meeting.
Despite the increase in the positive cases, the State had discharged 6 positive persons from hospitals on Sunday and placed them in the home quarantine. The success rate of treatment too is high in AP comparatively raising the hopes on fighting the epidemic.
