KCR, Jagan likely to Meet to discuss water disputes
If the speculations are come to true, the chief ministers of Andhra and Telangana YS Jaganmohan Reddy and K.Chandrasekhar Rao likely to meet at Hyderabad to discuss several interstate issues including water disputes. As per the information, KCR and Jagan have decided to meet one-on-one to solve the water disputes without knocking the doors of the Centre. The meet would help to both Telugu states to prevent the intervening of union government, ministry of water resources. Both Chief ministers likely to to have a meeting in Hyderabad in the last week of this month in the presence of senior irrigation officials of both the states to discuss and come to an understanding on the Krishna and Godavari river water sharing.
Actually the due are planned to meet through video conference at the apex council meeting convened by Union Jal Sakthi minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat from New Delhi on Tuesday, but the meeting was postponed due to the union minister is infected with Corona virus. The apex council meeting is likely to be rescheduled to the second week of September, subject to the health condition of the union minister. However, both the CMs are likely to meet one-on-one even before they go to the apex council meeting. Ofcurse the meeting is not yet confirmed and finalized so far. but if the reports are to be believed, the meeting is likely to be held at the end of the August. The bureaucrats are preparing the agenda and points to be discussed there. The both states have some disputed over Krishna water distribution and they are unsolved for the past few decades. Ofcurse, now, during rainy season, there will be no problem in utilizing water from Krishna rivers as the river has plenty of water but during rabi season, the two states concentrate on the water releasing and utilizing. So the both CMs are planned to solve the issue in a friendly manner. But its yet to be confirmed.
