Filling of nominated posts in AP, a festival of joy
The day was seen as a festival of joy with leaders and their supporters celebrating on being nominated as chairpersons to 135 corporations and urban bodies.
The state government, after a month-long exercise, had announced the names of the chairpersons for 135 corporations and urban bodies on Saturday.
Ministers Mekathoti Sucharita and Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna, advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, MPs Mopidevi Venkata Ramana and Nandigam Vishnu, MLA Meruga Nagarjuna released the list.
Interestingly, out of the 135 chairpersons’ posts, 58 per cent were given to the SC, ST, BC and Minorities. Of all these posts, 68 posts were given to women leaving 67 for men.
The exercise looks like chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had done the exercise meticulously to give 50 per cent of the seats to women in every caste, opening up his heart to the women empowerment.
Some of the leaders have lost the 2019 general elections and some could not get the due recognition after the government was formed. Some of the leaders felt neglected immediately after the local body elections.
Interestingly, all these were duly accommodated in the nominated posts, giving them a reason to celebrate with their supporters.
It looks that the exercise was done in such a way that every leader was covered and every caste was touched, for the first time ever.
Surprisingly, there are no dissent voices after such a massive list was cleared, which is also perhaps for the first time.
