CM to launch Vasati Deevena on 24 Feb at Vizianagaram
11.87 Lakh students would be benefited
After Amma Odi, the YSR Congress government is going to implement another welfare scheme in Andhra Pradesh. On Tuesday the chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy spoke to all the collectors and SPs of all district through video conference and stated that the government is launching ‘Vasati Deevena’ scheme for the benefit of students who are studying in hostels. The program would be launched on 24 February at Vizianagaram district. Students studying Degree, ITI, polytechnic, Engineering courses would get Rs.20,000 towards their hostel expenditure. As a part of this scheme the students studying degree and above courses would get Rs.10,000 as first phase in February and and in second phase they would get Rs.10,000 in July. The ITI students would be paid Rs.1000 per year and in first phase they would get Rs.5,000 and in second phase they will get Rs.5,000. The diploma students will be paid Rs.15,000 in two installments. The chief minister said around 11,87,904 students would be benefited under the Vasati Deevena scheme and they can spend the money to have hostel facility in cities and towns by spending the amount.
