AP HC stays SIT Investigation on Amaravati
The high court of Andhrapradesh on Wednesday issued stay orders to Special investigation team(SIT) formed by the AP government to probe several irregularities suspected in Amaravathi. The court ordered the SIT to not to continue the investigation in to that land related irregularities. The court has issued interim orders without further action on the formation of the cabinet sub-committee. It ordered that no inquiries be made until further orders. The AP government headed by Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy constituted SIT alleging huge irregularities during the previous telugu Desam tenure (2014-19). The SIT has initiated investigation and even booked cases on revenue officials and suspected involvement of supporters of TDP and bureaucrats also were involved in the irregularities.
But however, TDP leaders Varla Ramaiah and Alapati Raja filed a petition in the AP High Court challenging the formation of the SIT. The High Court, which heard the case, reserved full judgment and issued interim orders. The AP government has formed SIT headed by senior IPS officer Kolli Raghuramireddy along with ten members to investigate irregularities in the last Chandrababu government. The SIT was set up to exercise powers to investigate and file charge sheet on irregularities in TDP government. The SIT was empowered to investigate and file cases on the contents of the report given by the Cabinet Sub-Committee on past government decisions. Any how the high court has stalled the investigation process of SIT and not to go further action.
