7 Hydro power projects to come up in AP
The Andhrapradesh government has decided to supply the power at lesser price to the consumes by multiply the power production abnormally. The government proposed several hydro power projects on water projects in the state.
As per the estimation its planning to establish seven hydro power projects in various districts to produce 6300 megawatts of power. After completing feasibility survey, the tenders would be invited to undertake those plants. If the power would be available, the cost of power per megawhatt would come down as the government need not purchase the thermal power from private units. This issue was discussed in the meeting held at Amaravathi recently.
VAPCOS, TCE and some other expert organizations also have participated in the meeting and discussed various issues including viability and other technical issues . Finally they decided to undertake seven hydro projects on various water resources in the districts. As per the primary survey Kadapa, Ananthapuram,, Nellore, Kurnool, VIzianagaram, Visakhapatnam have some water projects and the government is expecting to avail those resources in proper way to produce 6300 megawatts of power.
