Who Can Direct This Challenging Film?
Remake films trend has caught up again with the Tollywood makers at present. Nearly half a dozens remakes are on the sets now. Several others are in the discussion/pre-production stages. Malayalam super hit 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum is one of them. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi acquired Telugu remake rights of this movie. Sithara Creations and Suresh Productions are going to jointly bankroll the project.
This is a multistarrer film and Rana Daggubati is reprising the role of Prithviraj. The producers are reportedly having discussions with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja for the other lead role that was played by Biju Menon in the original. Meanwhile, the suspense is continuing on the director who is going to helm the remake. Gowtam Tinnanuri and Ramesh Varma are among the front-runners for the remake as per the information. Gowtam is presently busy with the pre-production of Bollywood remake of 'Jersey'. It is known that Gowtam received huge appreciation for 'Jersey' starring Nani. It is really interesting to see whether he takes up this remake or not.
On the other hand, Ramesh Varma is going through a rough phase in his career. He got a breather with 'Rakshasudu' last year. It was a remake of Tamil film 'Ratsasan'. He is presently working on a script which is adopted from a Korean film. It is interesting to see who among these two directors takes up this challenging film. The content of 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum' is very strong, so we can expect a sure-shot commercial hit for one of these directors.
