LB Sriram Replaces Gundu Hanumantha Rao
Amrutham is one of the most popular comedy TV series in Telugu. Filmmaker Gangaraju Gunnam created this series in the sitcom(Situational Comedy) genre. Produced by Gangaraju's own banner Just Yellow Media, Amrutham was first aired on Gemini TV in 2001. It has enthralled the small screen audience till 2007. Amrutham was re-telecasted on Zee Telugu, Maa TV, ETV Plus channels later. The surprising thing is that the re-runs also garnered very high TRP ratings. Now, the makers are getting ready for the sequel of Amrutham.
The actors who were part of the Amrutham series will be reprising their roles in the sequel except for Anji(Aamudaala Anjaneyulu) character. Anji character was played by Gundu Hanumantha Rao in the original. It is known that Gundu Hanumantha Rao passed away a couple of years ago. Another senior comedian L.B.Sriram is replacing him now. Harshavardhan, Vasu Inturi, Sivannarayana, etc actors will be portraying their roles in the original.
Sandeep Gunnam is directing the sequel and it will be aired on ZEE5 from March 25, 2020. As the original series commands a good fanbase among the audience and received a huge response during the re-telecasts, the sequel has bright chances of becoming successful.
